The Little Chalfont Village Society (previously the Little Chalfont Rural Preservation Society) was founded in 1960 during a successful campaign to stop property development on Green Belt land. It has continued to work ever since to improve the amenities of the Village and to monitor and comment on planning applications.
Many daffodil bulbs have been planted in and around the village by members, making a very attractive display in the Spring of each year.
The Society supports the hanging basket display in the village which is organised by the Revitalisation Group.
Together with a local school, the Society successfully campaigned for railings between the footpath and the busy A404 road under the railway.
The Society has a membership of around 700 households and can claim over 1000 individual members.
The name was changed in October 2003.
The Society, along with local schools, helped to achieve the erection of railings to protect pedestrians walking under the railway bridge.
